About My One~of~a~Kind Mohair Bears:
Each and every Booh Bear or Booh's Friend is one-of-a-kind.
They are all created by hand and heart from start to finish.
Much imagination, work and love go into each and every creation.
I maintain the highest quality standards on all of my creations.
Most of my miniature bears are hand sewn while their bigger
"siblings" are mostly machine sewn. I use all premium quality
German mohair, thread, eyes, Merino wool felt paw pads, and superior
jointing mechanisms. The airbrush dye I use is formulated to use with
silk fabrics, so it is very gentle on mohair.
The "Bear Beginnings":
My creative endeavors began in 1992 designing and
sewing children’s clothing. The children’s clothing became
very popular and soon I was selling in many children’s shops
in Arizona. I enjoyed the creativity, but with my sister Patty’s
prompting, I decided to branch out into fabric art dolls and
animals. I made giraffes, zebras, cats and even pigs from fabric!
I enjoyed making the dolls and critters so much that soon I had
four booths going on at once in crafter’s malls throughout
Arizona. That lasted a few years until the real creative addiction
began in January, 1998, when my husband signed me up for a
Bear Making class. After sewing my very first mohair bear, mohair
and I became inseparable! This was the Bear Beginnings!
You will find my bears for sale on eBay, etsy, Bear Pile and this site!
My eBay auctions are under the seller name "boohbears", please click
on the "On eBay" link to the left to see the latest eBay auction,
or click on the "Available" link to the left to see the bears that are available for
immediate adoption either on Bear Pile, etsy, or this site. Please check back often
as I usually create one or two bears per week. If it weren't for you, the collector,
these bears would be taking over our home! You are a true blessing and I thank you
for your kind and continued interest in my creations.
A Little Bit More About Me:
Our family lives in beautiful Arizona
with our 3 kitties and various other "pets"!
I am a bit shy and it is difficult for me to talk to
strangers in person, but with the internet, you can’t
shut me up! In sharing a bit about myself,
I would like to mention my faith and how
God has carried me through some difficult
times. In 2006, I battled breast cancer and
I live with Multiple Sclerosis. I am grateful that
God is with me on this journey. For those
of you who are in need of prayer, please don't hesitate
to e-mail me. I keep a prayer journal right next to
my computer with the names and needs of my
internet friends ~ prayer changes things!
My prayer for those who read this is that you realize
that no matter how big a problem seems, nothing is too
difficult to get through if you allow the Lord to guide your path ;o)
